Streetcars on Central Park South - between about 1902 and 1905
Enlargement of the old car, a model probably released between 1902 and 1905.
Photo shows streetcars on Central Park South, looking west from Fifth Avenue. Columbus Circle is seen in the distance. The Scholar's Gate, the southeast entrance of Central Park, is to the right. The old Plaza Hotel, demolished in 1905, is on the left. The old building of the New York Athletic Club, seen on 59th Street, opened in 1898. Considering the car seen on this photo (enlargement on the right), it was taken after 1900 (probably between 1902 and 1905). Undated photograph by Geo. P. Hall & Son from the New-York Historical Society.
